Day 08

Oh my gosh! The presentation was such a drag! I must say some stories are just too long. I mean it’s nice and all but I think it’s too long. I was adventurous previously but then I just realized that we don’t have much time so I kept my story short. Anyway, after the presentation was over. I went up to Alan and told him if it is ok if I change to fully 3D. He don’t mind if I did because so far only Raj is doing 3D. But Alan was kind of worried that I can’t model it on time. But I told him not to worry as I am able to do. I am really a fan of 3D animation; Pixar had me influenced with 3D animation. Yes it is really annoying when it comes to rigging but after that is all done, the animation is really fun. My alien, Steve had its glitches but then I had fun animating and the end product is nice.

So, I want this P3 to be my second attempt of rigging and I want it to make it happen. I CAN DO IT!

So this is my edited learning contract and I won’t make any changes because it is final.

Day 07

Guess what! I woke up at 5am just to do my storyboard. I keep telling myself that I can do it. This is my punishment to watch movie after school. Anyway, I managed to finish it on time and I managed to reach school and scan in my storyboard and even add details for my powerpoint presentation. I then ask Alan if my character looked like 6 months old. He said she looked like 1year old. Even Melvin Tan agreed. So I said I will do the necessary changes after the presentation. I have to agree. I mean I do remember that a 6 months old still can’t walk and they are all fat and cute.

Then Melvin Tan from BLUE SKY STUDIOS, talked to us. Yes I did emphasise on the company because I’m a huge fan of Ice Age. The talk was really great and Melvin really inspired me to not give up in what I want. So, I had doubts for my P3 animation. I don’t feel like I want to do it in 2D. I must confess I don’t really like 2D. It’s a pain in the ass when the animation starts. Especially, turning the cartoon from left to right. It’s really ARG! Anyway, I presented first and the reaction from the audience really had made me feel disappointed. I expected laughter. So Alan said that maybe because its presentation that’s why they don’t find it funny.

So, yah. Presentation went on till 3 plus and it was really a drag even though it was short. I did not focus much on P3 after the presentation. As, we have Animation 02 presentation tomorrow

But I left early, as I was really tired from staring at the comp too long.

So goodnight!

Day 06

Well, I woke up at 8.30am today just to get my character design right. I can’t sleep well at all. I kept dreaming about my animation. Anyway, I went to school later at to scan in my characters. I then vector it for the presentation. I asked Tri, Rachael and Amanda to comment on my character design and they said that I want to make Baby Amy look like she’s 6 months. Amanda said that I should make her look more fat, bigger eyes, nose should be closer together and most of all she must look cute. I did the necessary editing and yup she looks so cute.

I then ask if my cat looked ok. For a stupid looking cat Amanda said that it looks too smart and not a contrast with Amy. So she sat beside me and suggested to either make it rounder or make it look sharper. So, she drew this triangular cat which I think look really cute. I just added some hair and ta-da. It’s Sophia!

I only managed to finish vectoring Baby Amy then I have to leave because my sis won tickets to watch Wolverine. WOO!

The movie was ok. I guess I was too tired and didn’t not expect too much. The movie is like the part one of X-men. I finished my cat design and here I am now getting ready for bed.

Day 05

We had a group meeting today and each of us have to show our learning contract. Kezia was up first. He said the primary and secondary aim should be something that we want to achieve in our animation. After all the understanding, we went back to our seats and I edit my learning contract.

After having my lunch I came back and showed Alan my learning contract. And he asked me to edit the age group and why exactly I want to add the motion graphics.

I have done the editing and this is my learning contract:
